Gathering more stuff:
Cars, houses and vacations –
And more of the same.

Becoming frantic -
And finally running wild -
Tangled Hair streaming.
🌱 🌿 💐 🌿
So unsatisfied.
Weeping with arms outstretched
Renting the ball gown.
🌱 🌿 💐 🌿
Where is joy hiding?
Exhausted with the searching –
Looking, one last place.
🌱 🌿 💐 🌿
The uncharted realm.
The seeming abyss within.
Fighting self-contempt.
🌱 🌿 💐 🌿
I do see my dark –
Vile, bleeding, grasping nature.
I am ashamed.
🌱 🌿 💐 🌿
Born owning nothing.
From small child sharing cookie –
To grasping sand dreams.
🌱 🌿 💐 🌿
Lord, what have I done?
From freedom to contraction.
From trust to nightmare.
🌱 🌿 💐 🌿
In seeking of stuff
Communion has been lost.
As greed ascended.

The joy I have sought
Through creations varied toys –
Waits within my heart.
🌱 🌿 💐 🌿
Is it so easy? -
To pass through the needle’s eye?
What can pass with me?

Can I bring along
Cars, houses and vacations?
What is their true weight?

Wisdom does ascend
Cleansed by heart owning naught
Free of grasping greed.

About the image shared: Called the “Eye of the Needle”. The Eye is located in Death Valley National Park in Echo Canyon. A dirt/gravel road turns north from Rt. 190 about 2 miles south of the intersection of the Badwater Rd. and Rt. 190. This road is recommended for high clearance vehicles only. After traveling a few hundred feet on this road, a small sign "Echo Canyon" will verify being on the correct route. About 3.3 miles up this road, it enters Echo Canyon. The arch will be visible about 1 1/2 miles up the Canyon. This 1 1/2 miles is navigable in 4wd vehicles only.
