On the schoolyard swing -
Rapture in wind and warm sun.
This too: God moment.

I have been here 68 years. A miniscule moment in the history of the life cycle of this earth. Over these few years, I have been gifted with numerous seminal points wherein conscious cognition occurred that changed everything. One such moment in time, I return to again and again. It occurred about 60 years ago. On the 2nd and 3rd grade playground (during non-school hours) at Center Street School with my friend Martha (now Marti) we were on the swings legs pumping furiously as we sought to move in arc back and forth, back and forth. It was exhilarating. Feeling joy and wonder I sought to share in words the wonderous experience β the miracle.
β¦β¦.. Look how these legs move, feel the wind move across the skin, feel the warmth of sun on face. β how is this possible? β this joy that comes with this impossible magical movement of body coupled with sensation β do you feel it? Are you also in wonder? β¦β¦β¦..
I am pretty sure I was not highly articulate, and I likely did not have the words expressed here β though I think this is at least the essence of the moment which I have been able to bring forward with me.
My little friend, ever the scientist, sagely shared the ideas of muscle and blood pumping to sustain and move this form. I remember frustration, as I was not talking about the mechanics of the form but rather wonder of consciousness moving in and through form. It was the impossibility of attempting to describe the joy and wonder of being in form that cemented the memory which I have carried with me through the years.
Now, all these years later, as I watch little ones on a playground swinging with joyous abandon, I am brought back to that first attempt to verbalize the JOY and thinking they may also be experiencing that joy which comes when nature and spirit combine.

Even today clear description is impossibleβ¦.

Matthew 6:34
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
