Considering now, the Islamic holy month of Ramadan in which there is celebrating of Namus/Gabriel’s visit to Muhammad

Ramadan - the 9th month in this calendar, traditionally determined by the sighting of a crescent moon. Today – May 15, 2018 – is the date of new moon. Some announcements tell us Ramadan in 2018 will begin this evening / May 15. Whereas other sources tell us, the beginning of Ramadan will be announced on May 15 as it depends on a siting of the sliver of the new moon.

Stories of Muhammad suggest he was of a kind and thoughtful nature. He would spend long hours in solitary prayer and meditation. Often he went to a hill above Mecca and into a cave now called Mount Hira. While in prayer and meditation in the cave, he was given significant dreams and received visitations from the angel NAMUS – who is known to the Jews and Christians as the angel GABRIEL. The name Gabriel translates as ‘strength of God’. It is in honor of this first visitation from Namus that what has come to be called Ramadan is celebrated.

Numerous times in the scriptures and the sacred words of Islam, Judaism and Christianity, Gabriel is mentioned. A lovely prayer/shema before sleep in the Jewish tradition calls on Gabriel to be one of the ‘holy watchers’ and protectors: “Michael to my right side, Gabriel to my left, Uriel before me, and Raphael to my back.”

If I have stated poorly or incorrectly the events that were the beginning of the celebration of Ramadan, please forgive me as the data shared is a compilation of information garnered. I have no personal experience.
