Ancient tome made new
Highway to the heart of God.
Glimpses into LOVE.

The wonder of being a teen for me, included the ability - and most importantly, the time - to follow the meander of a thought/concept/idea in any number of directions. I did and still do enjoy traveling the many fingered highway of an idea through to any number of possible conclusions - comparing and contrasting possible scenarios. As a teenager, in the late 1960s I became fascinated with ancient Egypt. My fascination with Egypt included a study of Hermes Trismegistus. Some legends say Hermes was the one who built the great pyramid of Giza. Further legends postulate that he was an earlier incarnation of who was to become Jesus the Christ. The mythical connection to the Christ is what most and first drew me to study further.
I had many books on Egypt. Perhaps my favorite was “The Egyptian Book of The Dead (transliteration and translation)” by E. A. Wallis Budge. This book became so dog-eared I remember having to tape the edges of the cover to keep it from falling apart in my hands and also re-taping many individual pages back into the book to hold it together. Sometime after 2000 the book was no longer in my possession. This loss likely occurred as a part of a massive life purge I had in about 2010 when I went from living in and owning an almost 4,000 square foot house to keeping only what fit in a 6’ x 6’ x 12’ trailer (that is a story for another time). Through the years after it’s loss to me I would occasionally look for a copy from booksellers. I was able to find similar books of the translation; however, I was unable to find the copy I had owned wherein the visual image of the heiroglyph, Egyptian pronunciation and English translation ran concurrent across the page – until – a few days ago. I found copies on Amazon of the original 1967 rendition I had previously owned. Eureka! (originally published 1895) Now, I once again have a copy!
One of the joys of being retired is that I am once again rather like the teenager – I have time to follow meanders of thoughts / ideas / concepts.
So …
Meandering … always towards the light. It is so joyous, this meander. It shows oh so clearly all true paths do converge.
There is a ray – a path – I follow with dedication – and such dedication is needed to quickly enter the light. Yet, the joy in seeing how the Divine speaks to each one of us in the cultural symbols and word constructs that one most resonates with to open the heart flower – ahhh – joyous.
I am like a happy child clapping her hands with exclamation, “Oh, you see it too!”

“Among those who dwell in that world above there is no disagreement -all have one purpose - there is One Mind, One Feeling in them all. For the spell which binds them one to another is LOVE.” Words attributed to HERMES TRISMEGISTUS

the image above a common one - said to be of Hermes looking from this world into the cosmos.
