Kai was 4 years old when i took this photo (actually i took a series) he became very intent on drawing images in the sand with his fingers - each image drawn quickly with focus and sense of purpose. each one unique and lovely beyond words. it did not matter to him that the creation was in sand and would soon be obliterated by the elements - he gave himself fully to his creation.
