A life well lived,
Miles traveled, easy and hard.
Scruffy boots patched.
Miles traveled, easy and hard.
Scruffy boots patched.
New little tennies,...
Taking wobbly toddler steps.
Joyous beginnings.

When this photo was taken (about 2012) my boots and I had traveled many miles. I had crossed and crisscrossed the United States / Turtle Island many times on ‘adventures’ large and small.
Little Elijah (whose shoes these are) will own many pairs of shoes over his lifetime. Will he wear Doc Martins or hiking boots? House slippers or tennis shoes? Loafers or patent leather dance shoes?
Best of all, will he have benefit of much time barefoot – walking running and tumbling on sacred Mother Earth.
Ultimately it is the inner miles traveled that most shape our lives. It is my prayer for Elijah and all those given the grace of human incarnation - that they walk in the direction of the Light.
