August 24 2018 Morning Coffee

☀️ ☕️ ☀️ 🧘🏽‍♀️ ☀️ ☕️ ☀️
With morning coffee -
Time in peaceful company
True soul friends converse.

☀️ ☕️ ☀️ 🧘🏽‍♀️ ☀️ ☕️ ☀️

Do you sometimes want to hang out with someone who has traveled the Milky Way? Of course, you do. Now and again I want to spend a bit of time with my mom. It is not even about what I want to say or hear. There is just a certain feeling that comes from sitting with my mom.
Back in the day, mom always woke very early in the morning. No matter what time I got up, it was very unusual if mom was not up already sitting in the living room with the lights low, quietly sipping on a cup of coffee. Mom liked to drink coffee out of one of her many china tea cups. Perhaps her favorite was a blue willow design she had. Coming in the living room and seeing her, we might not outwardly acknowledge one another but we were well aware of one another. I would go in the kitchen and get myself a cup of coffee too. Then we would sit together as the sun was rising. Now and again we would talk but not always.
My mom and I were pretty close. We would finish one another’s sentences quite a bit. It was disconcerting to others, when mom and I would have entire conversations that others found impossible to follow because much of each sentence was just not there in the outward sense. We understood one another perfectly, while those around would be left shaking their heads. Here is a sorta kinda example:
Mom – did you see ….
Me – yes, but I thought …
Mom – I agree with you, but I think it needed …

Me – you really think so?
I thought the conversation was complete the way it was.
I never would have noticed that Mom and I had these kinds of conversations a lot – except others – with heads spinning would now and again ask what we were talking about. When we explained the topic, others would say, ‘but you never said those words.’ Really.
This morning, as on many mornings, I continue to have morning coffee with my mom. Sometimes I will drink from mom’s favorite blue willow tea cup. Busy among the stars, yet she finds time to sit with me as I drink my morning ‘cup of joe’. My daughters, Starr and Crystal also note their gramma being about now and again. Clearly the veil of death is illusionary. With love that crosses the Milky Way relationships with loved ones continue.

Now, with sunlight beginning to burn into the day, it is time for each of us to head out into the tasks given to us to accomplish this day. We still have one another’s back. With prayer we take care of one another, not seeking to hold one another – just sharing the love and the ‘thank you’ through our travels.

July 10, 2018 Naasturium at End of Season

🍀🌺🍀🌺🍀🌺🍀
Last of the season
Valiant little nasturtium.
Carries color bright.

🍀🌺🍀🌺🍀🌺🍀

Walking the path, I see the annual nasturtiums in decline. Yearly they return to the land in the early spring sharing light and color to catch the eye and delight the senses. Now is the time of the nasturtiums decline until next year.
However, there are a few exceptions. Surrounded by her brothers and sisters who are returning to the elements, yet I see her and a few relatives valiantly reaching up with compassion welded to determination. It is now her time to share a hearty brilliance. Her petals are smaller, thicker, brighter and more stunning in intensity than those that came earlier in the year. She may be saying – “despite the heat and arid clime of this time – now is the time - I will reach out and share beauty with all.’
The blooms coming earlier in the year were larger, lighter and showier. They did not have to work so hard as the temperature was temperate and the moisture though rarely abundant in the hills surrounding the canyon was easily adequate for their needs.
Those coming at this time are hardier stock. Though from the same vine, yet they are a little different to meet the needs of the time.
In the same way, WE WERE BORN FOR THIS TIME. We are hardier and more resilient than we think.
When we see the suffering hearts of those who share this earth walk with us and tears fill our eyes, some think these tears we shed are weakness. Nothing could be further from the truth. We are giving the gift of sacred water (Mni Wakan).
When I was in nursing school, oh so many years ago, I learned; the chemical composition of tears varies related to the internal and external experience of the one who cries.
So, if you cry, let your tears be a portion of your gift to life. May your tears carry compassion coupled with determination to be a part of the healing of this very difficult time. The very composition of the tears you shed will meld with your prayers as conduit for healing.
With gratitude for your tears of love for our Mother the Earth and all her children.

POEM BY HAFEZ...

What Happens

What happens when your soul
Begins to awaken
Your eyes
And your heart
And the cells of your body
To the great Journey of Love?

First there is wonderful laughter
And probably precious tears

And a hundred sweet promises
And those heroic vows
No one can ever keep.

But still God is delighted and amused
You once tried to be a saint.

What happens when your soul
Begins to awake in this world

To our deep need to love
And serve the Friend?

O the Beloved
Will send you
One of His wonderful, wild companions -

Like Hafiz.
