WORDS FROM SWAMI SRI YUKTESWARJI:

⭐️
“In shallow men the fish of little thoughts cause much commotion. In oceanic minds the whales of inspiration make hardly a ruffle.”
⭐️

“Human conduct is ever unreliable until man is anchored in the Divine. Everything in the future will improve if you are making a spiritual effort now.”
⭐️
“Keen intelligence is two-edged, It may be used constructively or destructively like a knife, either to cut the boil of ignorance, or to decapitate one's self. Intelligence is rightly guided only after the mind has acknowledged the inescapability of spiritual law.”
⭐️
“When this love, the heavenly gift of Nature, appears in the heart, it removes all causes of excitation from the system and cools it down to a perfectly normal state; and invigorating the vital powers, expels all foreign matters- the germs of diseases-by natural ways (perspiration and so forth). It thereby makes man perfectly healthy in body and mind, And enables him to understand properly the guidance of Nature.”
⭐️
“Many teachers will tell you to believe; then they put out your eyes of reason and instruct you to follow only their logic. But I want you to keep your eyes of reason open; in addition, I will open in you another eye, the eye of wisdom.”
⭐️
“Tender inner weaknesses, revolting at mild touches of censure, are like diseased parts of the body, recoiling before even delicate handling.”

In three letters to Rajarsi, Paramahansa Yoganandaji wrote these words on his beloved Guru -  Swami Sri Yukteswar:
“You must have received my cablegram via Los Angeles announcing the passing of our lord (Swami Sri Yukteswar) on March 9. If I could cry I would feel relieved. I am sorry for all. Eternity has sealed his lips to most human ears. I am sad, even though I see him at every turn of my gaze. He was one of the wisest men, greater in exposition of wisdom than Shankara as far as I know. When comes such another? I am remembering all the divine play and communion he had with me. I can hardly think anything else these days than of all his untold gifts of upliftment given to me. I saw many teachers, but none like our lord who was a spiritual lion, never bending, ever aflame with wisdom.”

The Giant Sequoias Witness to the Ages

Giant Sequoias -
The Standing Tall Grandfathers
Cathedral of green.

Witness to the ages, The Giant Sequoias in the Sequoia National Forest are a thousand years older than the coastal Redwoods; the oldest known Sequoia Tree has been estimated to be 3,200 years old based on a ring count. Walking amoung these Grandfathers has the power of ancient cathedral. When I travel by car along the west coast of California, I know it is important to stop, get out of the car and walk with them for a bit. Then to sit with them a bit – breathing in the oxygen they are sharing with all on Our Great Mother, The Earth.

Quiet, cool and peaceful, the standing tall redwoods of Santa Barbara are relatively young sequoias at about 100 years of age. They Stand less than a mile from my home. Feeling so blessed to live in a place of such beauty. The serene giants grow deep in Mission Canyon along the pathway favored by the small amount of seasonal water flow in the region. Couple this with a narrow canyon and you have the perfect microenvironment for the Sequoias.

These quiet watchers, I wonder what their message is to the puny short-lived humans? It may be:
“Do not be in such a hurry Dear Ones, more is gained thru quiet rumination than rushing without thought. In your headlong running to ‘see it all’ you miss much. I delight in your joy and exhuberance, with wisdom you will learn to couple that with more time sitting quiet and tall – rooted like the redwood – becoming witness to the ages. Without moving, I have traveled the Milky Way and back. Come sit with me. Trust me, with stillness the panorama of existance will come to you.”
